How To Make Dog Treats - Homemade Dog Treats

Sunday 30 December 2007 @ 2:07 pm

If you are tired of purchasing dog treats when you really are not quite sure what they are actually made out of, then you may want to consider making some treats for your dog on your own.
You may be thinking that sounds too hard, but making homemade treats for your dog is just as simple as making cookies. However, if you are not quite sure how to make dog treats, the following is a great recipe that will help you make some tempting treats for your pooch.
You need to gather together your ingredients, first of all. For these treats you’ll need 1/2 cup of margarine, an egg, 3/4 cup of cornmeal, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of chicken flavor, 3 cups of whole wheat flour, 1/2 cup of shredded cheese, one cup of oatmeal, and 3/4 cup of milk.
Now comes our next step for learning how to make dog treats: Mix all your ingredients up. But not all together! You will be mixing the wet ingredients together in one bowl and the dry ingredients in another bowl (except for the flour).
After that, you take both the wet and dry ingredients and mix them well. Once they are well mixed, start adding the flour 1/2 cup at a time and stir it up after you add each 1/2 cup.
At this point you could use cookie cutters to cut out the treats, or you can drop them by the spoonful on a baking sheet like cookies. Then you will need to bake them at 325 for about 30 minutes. See, nothing to it. Once you know how to make dog treats, it’s easy and quick enough to do.
